*about the FGA...

pedro velez's FGA
San Juan/ Chicago/ the WEB
The FGA, (a.k.a. FUCKING GOOD ART), was founded Pedro Vélez and Michael Bulka in 1997 as an independent publication based in the city of Chicago. In 1999, and with the the collaboration of Lena Kuffner, the FGA evolved into a curatorial effort housed in diverse venues between Chicago and Puerto Rico, as well as other projects developed specifically for the web and non traditional spaces. Since 2003 FGA sprouts sporadically under diverse names, exhibitions, record covers, collaborators, and projects on the web. FGA exhibitions deal with thematic shows, conceptual practice, photography, sound art, and the use of the paranormal and the fake by claiming the essence of dead personalities, (e.g. Julia Child), in our exhibitions.
